Norfolkluegojnr - 13/1/12 at 08:47 PM

As me a luegosnr just got back from Autosport, thought you lot might like to see some pics.

feel free to stick your own on here as well, maybe we missed something?

Parked in the car park amazingly

Classic single seaters

Senna tribute was great

F1 parade as usual

Other random cool things

great show. any good pics i've missed?

wylliezx9r - 13/1/12 at 09:06 PM

Ive always liked lambos, but the back end of that aventador is a disgrace, I could have drawn better with an etchasketch.

norfolkluego - 13/1/12 at 09:20 PM

From the same day

Nice race shuttle

Nice bushes

A white Ferrari

In a sea of 'DO NOT TOUCH' notices, the guys from PPC magazine went a different way

You're going to need a bigger turbo on that mate

One of my favourite ever cars, simple, clean and beautiful

And right next to it, the car it beat to the championship (and the one that nearly killed Lauda)

It's an auction Jim but not as we know it

welderman - 13/1/12 at 09:21 PM

Nice

Ninehigh - 13/1/12 at 09:23 PM

What white Ferarri?

Holy cow that Veyron brake disc is rather large!

I shan't put "oooooh!" for every other picture

TheGiantTribble - 13/1/12 at 09:44 PM

WOW all them curves makes a Tribble dribble.

Gotta love the 1960 - 1970 single seater F1's

If you love racing cars, you'll love it, try to sneak off the stand from time to time

Wander how much the Ford F3L went for?

zilspeed - 14/1/12 at 05:43 PM

I think that might be my last time for a while.

I've been for the last 6 or 7 years, more or less and every year, there's always a bit of "yeah, saw that last year."

I'm not a rich bloke and can't afford most of the stuff I see, but barring the F1 cars, I can get pretty close to racing cars, supercars and lovely race cars bits without going to Brum.

Regarding the promo girls.
No doubt about it they're attractive girls, but it's all a bit tawdry is it not ?

More than once I saw blokes going around with girlfriends who didn't know which way to look when they got any where near stands with the promo girls on them.
Sorry, but it's all a bit max power rather than what should be the biggest motorsport show on the planet.

Not a bad show, but I'm done for a bit.

P.S. £1200 or so plus vat for a small stand.
Why would you ?

bobinspain - 14/1/12 at 06:02 PM

Fillibusterer.

The Louvre it ain't!
It's a glitzy, glam, (tasteless) meretricious 'dick show.' Mine's bigger than yours etc.
It promotes and sells cars in a gee-whizz fashion.
Cars, 'planes and boats are all the same. As the saying goes, 'If you can fly it.
float it or fu*k it, you should hire it.'

Well Im not there this year, been twice before and would like to go....

But its the beer & crack I enjoy, bottle of brown in each pocket, and Im set for the day wandering.

The women might impress a horny 17 year old, who desire ladies with catapult applied foundation, Not for me they are grotty & cheap, amusement value only, sexy they are not.

Next year I will be there - Scott you coming ?

I hope you mean craic?
There's plenty of the other sort (make-up) on display courtesy of the laydees.
I'd like to join the 'horny 17 year olds, being just a few years older. Impressed? no.
Intrigued? yes.
As the saying goes. 'beggars can't be choosers.

Must say, I went Friday and Saturday due to Needing to get cash for a purchase however much much better on the trade day, all the interesting engineering stuff which has turned to oval race cars and dodgems on Saturday........

Sure it's better for kids and whatnot but I think trade days are what the LCB people will be more interested in, also less promo girls on trade day.

zilspeed - 14/1/12 at 09:08 PM

Friday we were there.

It felt like an exercise in covering all the stands to make sure we at least saw everything, but it always does.

I'm not complaining, I was very generously given a comp ticket and got a free ride down and back for which I'm very grateful.

The Quattro with a difference! Dave Rowe's 750bhp twin turbo V8 creation, one of those cars you just couldn't walk past.
