Good bye
steve m - 10/7/21 at 10:13 PM

As i no longer have my beloved xflow Locost, due to a fire, i frequent this place less and less now

so ive taken the decision to remove myself permanently from LB,

I will say, ive had a great deal of fun on here over the last 22 years, but now this site does not have anything that i can give, nor take away

so, good bye,

Sorry to see you go Steve;-(

Sorry to see you go Steve, but a 120 posts this year? I would say you have contributed a lot in 6 months.

Sorry to see you go Steve, I enjoyed meeting you a few years back.
Take care out there.
JC

dont worry Steve, you will be back, take care out there mate.

cliftyhanger - 11/7/21 at 08:08 AM

Steve, I fully understand how you feel. Things that were sometimes part of our lives and we think will last forever eventually become less important.

Don't delete your profile, you just never know when you will have an odball question. This place has been a great help to me and many others, not only with cars, but with a range of "niche" knowledge from law to building/planning and more. Nowhere else has been so knowledgeable.

Good luck with whatever you do, but don't be a stranger

Goodbye Steve if you're off.

Like others I hope you stay.

LCB is a useful resource for many things. I built and sold my car many years ago, but LCB is one the only web forums I stay with as the people, banter and help are excellent.

As said, don't delete your account.

I remember when the front page would have been refreshed in a matter of hours, now it’s taking a week.

Slater - 11/7/21 at 12:56 PM

Sad to hear that Steve, hoping you'll be back on here at some point in the future.

David Jenkins - 11/7/21 at 02:43 PM

Very best wishes Steve, for whatever you end up doing.

Don't forget, 'nil illegitima carborundum' (don't let the bastards grind you down!)

Cheers,
David

Sorry to see you go Steve. Your contributions over the years and recently have been and still are valuable IMHO.
Good luck in future and look in occasionally.

Still think you should have just taken the insurance money and bought another finished 7 but anyway... Oh well I'm sure you will find something to keep you busy. Take care.

No need to go Steve just check in every now and again.

You and other long term contributers are what has and still will make this site great.

Exactly! I sold my toy about 9 years ago to help pay for house extension and have since started and abandoned another project or two (mental health issues) but still have a look/post on here every now and again.

If you have gone, then good luck with what life brings

Deckman001 - 12/7/21 at 06:52 PM

Steve, you have been a mine of information regarding my Locost build and getting me through IVA. And it was occasionally looking at this site that kept me interested in getting my old car back which eventually happened a few years ago.

So stay around, and keep in touch as your engine building skills might be needed sooner rather than later

Jason

Steve, these sound like quite final words. If you're just moving on to new horizons, that's grand - and at least saying bye is nice. But I'm sure you'll always have friends on here, I've always enjoyed your input and you've helped a lot of folk. So never say never, but enjoy your break and new start.

MikeR - 13/7/21 at 04:30 PM

As everyone else has said.....

Hopefully this isn't bye, but bye for now

James - 15/7/21 at 08:47 AM

I still have that old kit car magazine somewhere from about 1997 that I randomly bought (before any actual interest in building a car) whilst commuting and waiting for a train with you on the cover.

All the best buddy- au revoir I hope, not goodbye!

Cheers!
James

Bye...
It is sad how things change, several years ago I'd spend a couple of hours a day on the site, sharing ideas or just browsing...
Now I go weeks between visits.....

coyoteboy - 19/7/21 at 09:33 AM

The term "locost" used to get about 100 google searches a month, it's down to 2.
