Been volunteered to replace some rear coil springs on a tin top (mazda)

Any brands recommended or to steer clear of ?


I'm hearing good things about 'Suplex' and 'Sachs' but not such good comments on some of the cheapies from on-line suppliers..


Any advice welcome

On my MX 5 the issue was that the bottom coil ended with full wire diameter.
The end of the coil made a point contact with the next coil - exactly at the point where it failed
On the new springs, I tapered about a 1/4 of the end coil with a flap disc on the angle grinder.

I later changed to coilovers. A year of use showed no spot loading on the replacement springs.
