Track Days
Right Im starting to plan my first track day and wanted something close as i dont have a trailer and dont think i will have the cash for one this
year. Im about 8 miles from Donnington however looking on sites like trackdays.co.uk there dosent seem to be much (3 days over the year) for
Donnington with them being about 450 quid!
Have they not released all the dates yet? Or are they not doing many this year?
Also in case of any breakdowns does the push the car to the car park and call for recovery work?

There's usually 2 or 3 a month at Oulton...
I'm more than happy to give you a hand if you get stuck, I only work a mile away...

I do like the look of Oulton however still a bit far to go without a trailer I reckon.
Just seen a few on here but they are quite pricey.

think its about 65 miles or so and my cars not been on the track before so could do with something local before I venture further afield.

Do they provide lesions at Oulton and what like for beginner?

Donnington is usually only a 98db noise level, Mallory might be better for you, 105db noise.

The venue is rarely what dictates whether you get lessons or not, it's almost always whether the TD organiser has decided to provide someone to
give some lessons (passenger seat advice)
I think that Oulton is a superb circuit. It has enough run off in all the right area's to make it beginner friendly, but it's still a nice
twisty circuit as your confidence grows so can your pace and enjoyment levels!
One of the top two circuits in the country in my opinion...

Reading the guide looks like I would like session Track days preferably, not sure on what insurance one needs? I can understand that if I prang my
own car then I suffer it, but what would happen if I cause damage to another car.?
I will have to ask 2gether see what they offer if anything.

Some trackday companys, like Circuitdays offer free tuition, so if its your 1st trackday, and you think your going to need a bit of tuition, you may
be better booking with them.

I did my first track day at oulton and drove it there and back even after a few off's :0
Once you get a trailer you end up doing more. Steve is a good gofer. Bacon butties etc. Spanner man.

Lots of questions but must retire for night and will speak with insurance co tomorrow.
Car not back on road from paint job yet and have lots of things I would like to try such as track and drag basically just for fun and to say I have
tried.

If you hit someone else's car and it's an expensive one, just make sure you stay out of their way in the pits afterwards!
In all seriousness, incidents do happen, but it's pretty rare that one car hits another, and I'm not sure I'd insure my car for a TD
unless it was built into my policy...
TD's for bikes are always sessioned days and I can see the appeal for a first timer, but when you get there, you will realise what a relaxed
atmosphere it is and you won't be bothered by much. The only things to make your day go smoother are very very simple and obvious advice:
Don't drive quicker than your ability
Learn the circuit and enjoy the learning curve
Don't rush out first thing, and after lunch - wait for an emptier track if you're nervous
Take some obvious spares, cables etc and fuel...
Take friends/wife etc and a bbq for lunch and enjoy the whole day
Like I said, all obvious stuff...
Get one booked asap and take advantage of winter prices, you'll be able to learn the limits of the track/your ability/cars ability better in the
damp with doing 200 mph

never seen two cars hit on trackday's ever but seen plenty come off on their own 
oulton looks a cracking circuit definatley one on my to do list.
i prefer open pitlane format personally you can take the day at your own pace and not waste track time

Mallory is a good fun track to have a go on, most of the bits have been said already, it is well worth having some tuiton (I would say that though!)
that way you get to learn the braking points, turn in points etc and it is suprising how much quicker you will get in a short time, most of all enjoy

Sounds like a great price to me 
As others have said, Donnington, Oulton & Mallory Park are all great circuits for their own reasons...
I like the "openess of Donnington" & those Craner Curves are
Mallory Park....The hairpin is great & Gerrards bend seems to go on forever
Oulton Park...well just about the whole circuit is great fun, careful at Deers Leap if its damp
