Looks really good!

Shows what can be achieved in a decent time (unlike mine!).

Only thing... you sure the steering wheel/column isn't a bit high?

Maybe just an illusion due to the all-nighter (on the car ) I did last night!

Cheers,
James

Yep - it's spot on for me.

Scuttle is MK, but sides are book (1" lower.

It looks better with the scuttle on - honestly.

It can be adjusted anyway.

Actually, when I wrote the post the 3rd picture wasn't up.

I can see from that it's not as high as it looked.

Cheers,
James

Nice job even if the steering wheel is on the wrong side. hehe

Question will you be using an alloy framed windshield, directly attaching the windshield to the front hoop, or no windshield? From a structural standpoint in a bad rollover, not really anything any good rollovers, the front hoop might collapse at the lower bend. I would probably try to triangulate it with a forward bar at the center of the bar to the juncture at the lower rail and the firewall. This done it would give a bit more protection from side intrusion and should be able to be kept under the body work.

You can't do "running" now - you've got the floor in place, would have to be pushing.

Looks great Pat - you can come and build mine for me when you've finished

just wondering, have you panelled all the chassis floor for stiffness? from the rollcage i guess your making a racer, i cant help thinking it wont be too good for engine cooling and circulation within the bay????

Avoneer - 9/7/06 at 11:23 PM

Not a full panel - 3 separate panels (but fully panelled front to back). There is 10mm air gap between where the panels meet as well.

Best bit is my shortened sump is above the lower chassis rail and the engine isn't much higher than normal - very clever - using the MK bonnet, nose and scuttle sorts this one right out.

It's gonna be a racer wish-it-was car.

Thinking of venting the nose and bonnet at the top/back yet anyway to get some of that heat out.
