OT - Sending large files - help!

I need to send some large files (*.avi & *.ppt) for work and its getting quite urgent....

the files are too big for email so I've tried yousendit.com but its just sitting there saying processing and doesn't even give progress bar so I've no idea if its working or not

I've already compressed them as much as I can (using winrar)

can anyone recomend a good, free service to send / host these

cheers
-Robert

used www.box.net in the past seem to be giving a free demo how big is the file ?

other option is split it into rar bits and rejion at other end ( winrar ? )

Try dropbox, i have it on all my PC's syncing with the main online server, you can also email links so people can download stuff without an account.

Put them on to a usb stick or DVD as files and POST

Get an External HDD

Or + 1 for Drop Box

Or Set up your own FTP server

Or SSH tunnel to you box using PUTTY or similar and then SFTP them..

Or Set up your own webserver and publish them for down load

Loads or ways.

I prefer the old stick them on a DVD & Post / Carry to work

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

yep, well, i've never had any problems with it. sending files like 140mb. sometimes it does take a little while to get past processing (depending on the size of the file), but then you'll get a progress bar on the next screen, stick with it, its the best one i've ever used

Wow, I shouldn't take the wee but I get a faster connection than that..... in the desert at work...... using my mobile for a GPRS connection to my laptop.

Maybe time to change ISP unless there are no other options where you are.
