Rear Mounted Starter Type 9 Bellhousing

Hi All,

Does anyone know of an off the shelf type 9 bellhousing which enables the starter motor to be mounted on the bellhousing side rather than the engine side of the flywheel?

It's for a V8 project, where the four cyclinder and V6 traditional ford bellhousings make the starter clash with my cylinder barrels.

If I had the money I'd get a custom bellhousing made, but I just don't sadly so will end up trying to find a workaround using the four cylinder housing which I already have.

Any help would be much appreciated.

would need to watch which way the starter will crank the engine over, I have seen the bell housing modifies and have the starter housing moved to the opposite side, the guy who did it was a coded welder he fitted a type nine to a midget engine and modified the bell housing to suit

Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Thanks, yeah was thinking that the starter would need sorting.

As you say I think I'm going to need to make up accustom one.
