Looking for a picture of gearbox mount
Can somebody post a picture of their chassis where a Type 9 box mounts?
My chassis just has a plate with a single hole in it, which suggests it was just hard-mounted with no bush??
But the standard Sierra bush looks too wide to fit well across the trans tunnel...

I put a piece of rubber matting between the gearbox and plate, screw the bolt in tight with some thread lock.
No problems over the years including extreme angles taking the engine in and out.

+1 I've done exactly the same thing, but I added a small hard rubber bush under the plate too

Westfield use the bush off an elan , same as caterham
Smaller than the sierra one but similar in appearance
Paul matty sports cars had them for £15

its actually just the one from a Cortina 
loads of places sell them, but caterham are sometimes the cheapest

The standard sierra one does need to be trimmed down to just the rubber part (about 10-15cm wide). The original sierra one is about 30cm wide.

Thanks guys, do you not get excessive vibration/noise transfer when doing that vs. using the sierra/caterham/cortina bush?
I'll have a look at the smaller variant - loggyboy, for some reason I think my tunnel is narrower as the bolt hole on yours that sits on a
flange, on mine basically straddles the two longitudinal box section members.

I used a standard sierra one when I first built the car..
The gear stick used to bob up and down there was so much movement 
Mine is now solid with silicone mat - all good here ..
Own chassis & Build - First time pass!!

yeah the std. sierra one is very soft and gives a lot of movement...
the older style mount is much firmer with hardly any movement
here's the old 4 speed Cortina/Westfield/Caterham/etc. one next to the sierra one for comparison:

Great, thanks!
I'll measure the chassis for the cortina one, and if I can make a decent mounting plate to fit I'll use that, otherwise will just man up
and go solid mounted (with neoprene/rubber mat)

Here's my Luego chassis gearbox mount plate if it helps.
