Sierra hubs taper

Got the standard sierra front hubs as per photo below, was under the impression that the maxi ball joints fit straight into the lower taper in the sierra hubs, however, just found a thread on the haynes forum that talks about reaming the taper to suit the maxi ball joint???

I've just lent my Axminster taper to a fellow locoster, your welcome to borrow it after.

As above. Cortina matched the maxi ball joint but the Sierra did not.

Your best bet is to to put a post up for borrowing of buying the Axminster 19mm handy reamer. It's one of them flukes in life that it has an exact match for the tapper. Snag is they no longer sell it. There are lots out there.

There are kit car firms that will do the job.

That would be very much appreciated and would promptly be returned with a selection of beer tokens.

Give me a shout when you have it and I will arrange the carriage :-)
