STRANGE NEW BUILD

Good day all, about to start a new build seven type. So I have a blank sheet of paper. I'm slowly getting ideas and trying different combinations of said ideas. Chassis is not a problem, I know where I'm going with that, The first hurdle will be front hubs etc. Plan to make my own wishbones so what are the best modern day hubs and associated bits to use, MX5 seems the easiest at present, but willing to listen. Want ready to use stuff I can get hold of from the scrappie not marked up rally/race stuff.

BMW z3 possible, rear axle looks very similar to a sierra (front hinged arms) so may be easy to adapt the Haynes chassis and 1.9 140 hp is OK or make it a 2.8 straight 6. BMW 3 series (e36/43)was used in the GKD Legend iirc a quick google will probably provide some chassis pictures.

MX5 bits may well be the way to go. That said I'd not rule out FWD front hubs with the McPherson strut hole and some form of adapter to suit an upper wishbone.

Agreed, the MEV cars use ford focus front uprights front and rear IIRC.

Another thought would be the MGF that is used on the Sylva J17/Vectis.
