Lightweight period front calipers (1960's)

Hi all,

me old man is on the hunt for some lightweight 1960's front calipers for his S2 Lotus rebuild, ideally like a 2 pot GT6 but alloy or period AP Racing type. Has anyone got a pair they're looking to part with?

Thanks

The MGTF had 2pot AP callipers that may be ok, they use a 240mm disc iirc.

May be worth an email to these guys to make sure they are alloy. http://www.mgfntfbitz.co.uk/shop/2-pot-ap-calipers-front-seb000340-seb000350-free-brake-pads/

Or there are the originals if you have deep pockets https://www.elise-shop.com/pair-of-lotus-ap-oe-2pot-brake-calipers-black-p-502684.html

There are also a number of cars that have 2 pot rear brakes that may do the job - Subaru Forester, Porsche 911 and 964, Nissan 300zx but you will need to see if they are alloy and may need logos grinding off.

The scooby ones look quite retro when refurbed - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-2-Pot-Rear-Brake-Calipers-Refurbished-inc-Fitting-Kit/162669922784?hash=item25dfe209e0:g:3CYAAOSw6Q1ZtokW />
Finally you could to wilwood who do 2 pot callipers that look retro

Good luck with the search.

I may have a set of girling D12R here or could be the later AR calipers.

Would need to get them IDed.

Thanks for the replies gents. MGs are a good suggestions but as far as I know they are for vented discs? The 7 will be running solids.

Ken, the Girling's sound interesting, if you can confirm what they are and give me a price I'd be keen to know more. Feel free to drop me a U2U, thanks!
