NOt locost, but want suggestions/recommendations
Right, my "office" is three miles from home, mostly uphill there, downhill back (really!!!).
I can't be bothered to cycle (and I drop wife at station and take employee to work) but want a really cheap way of getting there.
So I'm thinking of something like this:

but think the £4g +vat very very very steep.
I reckon I can build something for a lot less, so here's my thoughts:
1" sq chassis, f/glass bodywork, fold down screen or half screen (for obvious reasons).
Need suggestions for very light front hubs - Mini perhaps (need 4 wheel brakes and h/brake). Drive will be electric - 48v.
Cover the roof in solar panels.
Daft or not

Won't it need road tax, insurance etc...
Get a fold up bike, taxi there, roll back down the hill - it'll be cheaper!
If you build an electric vehicle, dont forget the dynamo so you can recharge the battery as you roll back home.

Electric bike - slap a roof on covered with solar panels, can't understand why no ones done it - when you do a royalty of £1 a bike would be
satisfactory to me!
I think your golf buggy, if under the Kw limit which I can't remember would be a quadricycle - much less legisltion, but still has to be
SVA'd insured etc IIRC

Apart from the obvious negatives of not being able to carry passengers, is it not possible to get an electric module that will attach to a (eg)
mountain bike?

I'd have to say I like that bike, isn't there a maximum power output before a machine needs a licence? I think it's what limits the
electric bikes. I have always fancied something like this (below) but powered so I could use it down the beach (I can go all the way from my house to
work that way)

Yep, SVA etc required, but electric, means no rfl (so it could pay for itself in no time!)
Remember, it's got to be able to carry the wife, who works in London and needs to look reasonably smart and moans enough about her hair!
I'm thinking about scrapping the 1"sq and going for 3" x 2", basically build a a locost transmission tunnel, outriggers for
seating etc
