Cheap RX8 anyone?
Nickp - 3/3/17 at 08:55 AM

I've decided to move this on as my kit's now 'finished', here's the ad-

RX8 231
54 plate
70K FSH
Lovely car but surplus to requirement now.
Full MOT (well last month anyway)
12 stamps in service book (one a year, roughly every 6K) and lots of receipts.
New lowered springs (appear to be Tein) and new braided oil cooler lines August '16 at cost of £500.
Starts everytime, not had any issues.
Shortshift kit fitted (£300) giving a really nice snicky change.
De-catted and new coils.
Recent oil change (correct 10w40 semi-syn) and run with fully synthetic 2 stroke pre-mix while I've had it.
Excellent black leather interior with nice Parrot car kit.
Bodywork very good, solid sills arches etc with just a few marks / scratches on both bumpers.
2 very good tyre, 2 down around 3mm.
Drives really really well, can't fault it tbh.
Any questions, please send me a message.
****NO OFFERS**** please, if you like it, it's £1k.

Hi Nick, good luck with the sale. I used to have one of these and I think it's insane how cheap they are now. They did have their "quirks" but if it's a good one then this is a steal. If had a spare space I'd have it!

Cheers

Chris

Thanks Chris, they're a cracking drive. They don't feel that fast at first until you get dialed into the power delivery and revvy nature of the engine. Then it's fun and revs all the way

Anyone? Before I float it on the bay of E and suffer the usual barrage of daft questions and ridiculous offers.

Still here, can't bring myself to put it on ebay yet.....

Looks like great value. Hard to go wrong for a grand.

It is indeed. I mean, RWD, 9krpm red line, 227 bhp, 146 mph,0-60 6.2 secs.
What's not to like? Well maybe the fuel consumption

How bad is it on juice Nick ?

It's a bloody bargain, If I didn't have 4 cars outside already, it'd be joining my collection.

TBH I haven't really used it enough to get any meaningful figure. It's only been used as an occasional toy and was driven accordingly
Problem with these is that they love to be thrashed to that 9k red line and it's such a shame not to oblige. I'm sure if they're driven in a steadier manner then you'd get reasonable mpg on a run.

Hi Nick,

Car still for sale?

I had one as a daily runner for two years. On a motorway run you'd be doing well to get 26 MPG out of it, around town 16-18 MPG! Then there was the litre of dinosaur oil you had to put in every ten minutes and the flooding issue, the cold start issue, the hot start issue etc etc...

IIRC I think I got it down to 6 MPG on a trackday once.

It had to go as I was doing 18000 miles a year and it was going to bankrupt me.

It's still a bargain though
