alfa brera

any alfa men on here. I have a brera and the oil temp gauge is showing nothing. I have been told tha the sensor is in the sump and requires the sump to be removed. Is this correct and is it easy to remove the sump. It is a petrol brera.2.2. any advice appreciated. david
