Some progress at last.
Prop had to go back to the maker as it had been welded up wrong and was running out, but it's all back in and dandy now
Cage has been welded in and chassis has been repainted as it was scuffed and chipped to buggery after being sat for so long.
Made up interior panels from sheet ally then covered with vinyl , finished off with a bit of worktop end cap :p
Side and rear panels all on and lights in. Rear wings trial fitted and lights in them too, though they're not getting fiixed in place till near
the end as I know i'll knock or scratch the buggers in situ. (number plate just used for spacing)
Made up an exhaust surround for the nearside panel (same shape on the inside but unpolished to spread bolt load)
It drives now although I think the carbs need balancing and a little tweeking.
Rear offside isn't holding on the handbrake either so drum apart for a little investigation,
and need to solder in a couple of resistors to the side repaters to get the flash rate down.
Going to send off for IVA date in the next week or so.
Scuttle, dash, nose and bonnet going on monday
Then I need to find somewhere to take it for a shakedown test

have you have the rear ride height set, there looks to be a bit of a gap between the rear arch and tyre
I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

Welcome any time steve
Saw your bootlid lewis, looked the dogs
Mounted the repaters there to get over visibilty issues, didn't fancy puttin them on the wings.
Prop was made by autoprop in eastbourne.
Ride height is 20 mm higher rear than front, though at the mo it's about as high as it will go for getting it on and off the trailer.
About 100mm clearance under the sump atm, but it does look like it's on stilts lol

Not to bad a fail today
Emissions slightly off passed CO with 0.0, HC was 189, but lambda was a bit high at 1.666.
Think it need leaning off slightly ?
Rear brakes locked up before the fronts, need a couple of compensator valves for the rear lines.
Speedo was all good till it crapped out over 50mph and wouldn't read anything sensible (was fine below)
Side repeaters on the cage failed as he could see them from the front of the vehicle.
Other than that just a few bits of trim under the dash

Yeah cxr 13" nice and light
Been fooking around agin this evening, looks like the koso r1xn is shot could never get the revs reading right, and the speedo refuses to read
above a certainish rpm no matter how many magnets I use. So that's £150 down the pan.
Got a metro brake compensating valve comeing to plumb into the rear line which will hopefuly cure the braking problem, then it's just some
tweeking of emissions for the retest.
Much swearing and threatening with a hammer didn't help anything this evening lol.

If you're not using shielded cable for the sensors that might sort the dash. Otherwise mostly easy stuff - did he suggest where to put the
repeaters? maybe a shield (or even some black paint would sort out the front view) but check first as the retest is a bit expensive to guess.
Good luck on the retest.

Side repeater fail amazes me, virtually every normal car on the road has side repeaters that can be seen from the front?!

Put some new repeaters in the rear wings now (testers sugestion)
My Koso was fubar'd, new one turned up this morning and everything works as it should now
Going to test the brakes with the vlave in place at the weekend, and hopefully get it to the tuners to tweek emmisions.
Fingers crossed for a re test latter part of next week. Tester said it had been very quiet and had nothing booked in for the next few weeks.

I still don't understand the logic behind the side repeater - did the tester have any comment on it, bearing in mind that most side repeaters on
normal cars are visible from the front?
