Selling up: MX5 based Haynes Roadster

A part of me doesn't believe I'm writing this, but it's time to face it - I'm not going to get my Roadster finished any time soon. I have my other autosolo / hillclimb car and a house taking up my time. This is a tough decision and one I've agonised over for the last few days.

I've barely touched the car in since doing an awful lot of work to take it to Stoneleigh in 2015 (where it was on SA Motorsport's stand):

Some of you may remember it, a lot of people had some very nice things to say about the car and its build

So, what's up for grabs?

Fully welded and painted chassis (with SSC mods to take MX5 running gear) with SA Fabrication and Motorsport full roll cage. Currently a rolling chassis.

Some people who are on the Haynes forum may remember Johno and his work mates who each decided to build a Roadster and that they turned out very high quality fabrication. My chassis is one of theirs. You cannot fault the quality of the welding, it's really superb.

The roll cage is top spec, custom fitted to the chassis and a replica would cost you just shy of £1,000 on its own. All the mounting plates are fully welded.

Also currently fitted:

Pedal box
hard brake lines
MX5 brake master cylinder (looks brand new)
extended MX5 steering column
2.9 turn Escort steering rack, ally rack mounts, Talon rack extenders & new MX5 TREs
Fully refurbished MX5 uprights front and rear with new bearings and poly bushes
New brake discs
TIG welded wishbones (done by Johno), powdercoated with new poly bushes
Torsen LSD 4.1:1, repainted with new side seals, front pinion seal and diff breather
Solid diff ear mounts made by Stot
Refurbished driveshafts
Protech dampers (new, to SSC spec)
Set of 14" daisy alloys
Fuel tank with bespoke fixing strap
SSC scuttle panel
Alloy side and rear panels
All interior and bulkhead panels done except for dashboard and the steering column cover and the engine bay bulkhead

Other parts available (warning - long list!)

NB: all engine parts are for a 1600cc - some are interchangable, like the vernier cam pulleys.

6 x 14" "hollow spoke" Enkei MX5 alloys (10.8 lb per wheel)
4 x 14" M 7 spoke polished MX5 alloys (10.5 lb per wheel) - RARE
4 x 14" "solid spoke" Enkei MX5 alloys (11.5 lb per wheel)
1600cc MX5 engine and gearbox
4kg IL Motorsport lightweight flywheel
BLiNK Motorsport ported and gas flowed cylinder head
Piper BP270 cams to suit head
BLOX vernier cam pulleys
MX5 specific Megasquirt 1 ECU (with, I've been told, a map for a S/C 1600 done by Skuzzle)
Wideband lambda sensor and controller
Koso DB-03R digidash
Go Race weld on snap off steering wheel boss (£180 new from Go Race)
Caterham exhaust silencer (brand new)
Full set of TIG welded wishbones (a second set, welded by Johno)
Premier wiring loom and dash switches
RMD steering wheel
Early MOMO MX5 steering wheel with centre cover (these are worth a bit)
Full lighting kit
Spare MX5 diffs and driveshafts
Spare cylinder head
New Polo rad with new Coolex cooling fan
Clio expansion tank (new)
MX5 coolant reroute spacer
set of 1.8 brake calipers
set of 1.6 brake calipers
another spare pair rear brake calipers
new handbrake cables
spare NA and NB front uprights
spare MX5 crankshaft
Lightweight battery
Mirrors (IVA OK)
Propshaft
Engine service kit (water pump, cam belt kit, new clutch etc.)
3 x SSC rear wheel arches
6 x front wheel arches (1 pair of SSC, 1 pair of carbon effect ABS, 1 pair of CF)
Aerodynamix carbon fibre double bubble aeroscreen
2 x SSC bonnets in white (1 might be scrap, the other is new & unfitted)
1 x SSC nose cone, in primer
original MX5 wiring loom and ECU
original MX5 instruments

5 speed gearbox for a mark 3 MX5 - perfect if you want to fit a Duratec

There are a lot of parts to go through and price up, so please bear with me - feel free to drop any offers in the meantime. I don't do dibs - money talks (either full payment or a deposit to hold).

I'm happy to meet people at Stoneleigh (I live approx 30 minutes away) and bring bits with me.

Thanks for looking

I'm afraid I don't, you should be able to get one reasonably cheap from the MX5 selling pages on FB.

Thanks

Hi, do you still have the Go race steering wheel boss

Damn, What a ride!!"

Hi, I'm afraid not.

I probably should go through the list and mark up what's sold!
