Where to buy STM wishbones?
DANMAN - 1/4/15 at 10:24 PM

I had an incident with a tree on the weekend in my STM Blade which resulted in the drivers side suspension being torn out. I am going to have the chassis repaired but wanted to get a new upper wishbone and lower wishbone. From what I can gather STM are no longer making Lotus 7 style cars and now Aries Motorsport has taken that side of things over? I emailed Steve at Aries a few days ago but haven't received a reply. Does anyone know where else I could buy them?

Dan,
I would say almost every email I've seen where people don't get answers is down to email. I've seen complaints about most makers over the years, so it's not a unique thing!

I love email as much as the next man but I think in an environment where people work in workshops, they're busy, and they're probably not fans of sitting at a desk, I think the majority of kit car firms answer the phone much better than they do emails.

So I'd definitely say give Steve at Aries a call. I hear good things about his customer service generally, so it might just be he's not an email fan.

I'll never understand this, but it is true of many companies in the car related industry and not just kit cars. Surely if you are busy in the workshop allowing a bit of time each day to respond to emails is better than getting interrupted by the phone while you are working on something else?!

He lives in Australia though?

Hi! I talk with Steve through email and usually he answers me within 48h. The only time it took longer it was because there was some system change and my email went to the SPAM folder. Steve's ability to answer emails and do it with photos to explain build details is one of the things I love and, since I'm in Portugal, it really is a life saver.

I'll warn Steve to look into his SPAM folder for a message from you and I'll send you through PM an alternate email address that you can also try.

Cheers,
HappyFather

Thanks for the info guys. As Daniel said, I am in Australia so calling him is a bit more difficult for me than it would be for most. I will shoot him through another email and see how I go.
