New Avon style body quality

Hi,

Maybe a little soon to ask.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a new style Avon body.
So I wonder if the GRP quality of the new body is better than the old one?
And how is the fit?
Any information welcome.

regards,
JP

the only refreshed Avon one i have seen looked a vast imnprovement on the old one, but then it couldnt have been any worse! The GTA body we have is excellent and it actually fits very very well.

I've got the new body. The main body tub is easy to fit and only needs minor cutting of the front 'ends' to make them vertical and parallel. The rear arches fit nicely and the boot with lid is a nice feature.

I'm not sure any improvements have been made to the nose cone and bonnet though. I'm just working on fitting those now - not easy.

The finish of the fibreglass overall is very good. There are a few minor imperfections, e.g. where there are internal corners for example where the dash meets the side of the car, but these are not really visible. I've also come across a couple of rough areas of surface that on white tend to attract dirt from hands, etc. very easily. Not sure if these can be polished out.

Overall I am very happy with it. Or will be when the nose and bonnet are fitted!

PS The body kit also includes a couple of colour coded 'wedges' to mount the fog and reversing lights. These make for a more professional look.
