Direct replacement alternative Master cylinder?

Hi all,

This is a follow question based on all the help and advice reference received from you kind people on my previous post regarding substandard braking performance.

On my Tiger Supercat, It seems other than changing the pads to Mintex 1144 pads, which I am planning to do, the other issue is due to a substandard Sierra master cylinder having a too large bore, so the question is this:

Is there an alternative (or aftermarket high performance?) smaller bore master cylinder that will fit on the existing bolts of the Sierra master cylinder, so I dont have to fabricate a new mounting plate?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the early non servo Fiesta mc is pretty much a straight swap, but not speaking from personal experience as I used a Fiat 124 mc which did need a plate making to deal with the different mounting holes etc.

I changed mine on the Avon for a MK1 fiesta non servo master cylinder.

the mounting holes were slightly different to my old cylinder (steel pipe type not cast) but easily redrilled.
some unions were a bigger size as well, and I had to block off 1 outlet which I used a bleed nipple for

It has made the braking so much better, more feel and confidence you would not believe it.

Fiesta Mk2non-servo master should be right.

Laptoprob did the swap last year on his Avon and he's been happy with the results.

Thread HERE with link to the master he bought.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your help so far. Not much in the line of Fiesta non-servo master cylinders on ebay at the moment, but there is this:

What do people think of this?
