Avon with blade engine?

I'm building up an avon at the moment, I was going to put a Zetec in it, but I'm having second thoughts, is it worth putting a blade in it? Has anyone on here got one in their Avon?

I dont have an Avon, but I have owned a Zetec engined Westfield and now own a blade engined Westfield.

I would recommend passengering or ideally driving cars with both engines first as they behave so differently, in my opinion BECs are so much more exciting due to the revs and the noise!

Much more reliable?
3 years, 25 trackdays, 2 tours of the Alps, used here on the road everytime the weather allowed, I think I covered a total of 19k miles and apart from a couple of clutches (20min to swap) the car never missed a beat. Bike engine cars are perfectly reliable if you start with a good motor and look after it.

Well said gaz. You also need the correct sump!

Simons busa engine package is cheaper than most installs if your having to source bits etc. Good price for a full/reliable well proven setup

2yrs, 10k+ miles a year and 4 engines...

Don't get me wrong, I love the bike engine, but I'm really starting to think about car engine.

What keeps going wrong?
4 engines, you running Renault F1 power units?

Are you buying engines from a reliable source or picking up bargains for peanuts?

Malcs probably a sound option.hell more than likely have various 1000cc motors in stock. 04-06 R1 is a good motor
