Has anyone any experience of electronic actuator gear change systems. Trying to sort out the gear change on my striker zx9r powered hillclimb project. Been offered for free a electronic actuator gear change system out of my mates old racing car. Comes with control unit and loom. Button operated. One button changes up and one button changes down mounted on the steering wheel. Any good.

Not great for gearboxes!
Does it have an autoblip on the downshift?
And what controls the shift cut?

I fitted one on my ZX9R, used Jag paddle switches. Worked very well, but I felt they would work best on a competition car.
I found that preloading the up change worked best.

I think it made by a company called power shift. Not got any info on it at the moment but it comes with a black box control unit that autoblips and cuts the spark. I'm sure it can be fitted in such a way not to damage the gearbox.

Think is a very early pro shift system. Anyone come across them.

I have a power shifter setup on my Indy but it came already setup.

Works well for me but I know others including driving instructors have had issues with selecting gear with mine.

I don't like to use it without the clutch unless the car is warm, but it works well enough, and works better when driving hard than driving slow.

Can't say I'd be keen to set it up myself as you need to get the timing just right for it to work. I think the guy who designed power shifter moved onto another project and this isn't directly supported now?
