Alloy bellhousing
Samuele - 29/10/16 at 05:44 PM

I try to get information about this piece:
alloy bellhousing
There are two vendors who have it,
but customer service is really shit.
I expect answers to many weeks.
I wrote it and for a zetec,
but I would not buy a piece that never goes.
why I asked for clarification from the sellers.
in vain...
but maybe any of you know if and to 100% sure it's fine for a 2.0 zetec with gearbox type 9 v6
these are the links:

Hmm, V6 type 9's have a longer nose so if you want to use that you'll need a spacer between it and the box...

Samuele - 29/10/16 at 06:12 PM

Yes,will I have to use the spacer.
I know that already.
what I do not know and whether it goes well with the engine.
the only time a seller has responded,
He told me to use a bellhousing RS2000
but no good because the cavity of d starter slams against the frame.
so I thought that a bellhousing like the ones I posted in the link,
ie the cavity of starter motor on the right to work.

This may be what you need but a bit pricey...

This is the one I would go for...

I used the RS2000 one and yes it was a tight fit with the starter bulge being on both sides..

the second bellhousing in the picture and how what I think would be suitable.
It must have only the cavity of the starter bulge the opposite side

Another option will fit and as you know you will also need the spacer plate. Cheers D

Do you need a mirrored bellhousing due to changing your chassis to lhd?

Both the bellhousings you've listed should bolt to a zetec block fine, the one on ebay looks more heavy duty and both require a rocket gearbox clutch arm/release bearing/pivot.
The ebay one is also available in magnesium, i don't think it'll be cheap but it will be 2kg lighter than an aluminium one.
It doesn't look like either has lower bolt holes in the same position as a sierra/rs2000 bellhousing, so they will not match up to a raceline sump.

Ideally you want a copy of a lhd sierra t9 bellhousing, but i don't think that option exists unless you got a foundry to cast a copy for you and get it machined correctly.

You could chop off some of the starter bulge on a rs2000 one and tig a plate over the hole created, it wouldn't be pretty but would achieve your goal.

exact, I want to move the guide to the left.
Magnesium also exists, but besides being twice more expensive,
if not mistaken, and less resistant to corrosion.
Aluminium is fine for me.
