don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

HI to start with what cam shaft have you got ?
To set it up right we need to know this

as a example a piper 255 mild road is 113 at full lift
a 285 ultimate road is 108 % full lift
I don't know how mutch you have spent so far but for about £80 you could have it at Bogg Brothers on there rolling road
some one on here may know the right price

Are you using a dizzy or megajolt?
has the timing been checked and the cam belt fitted right
i am just thinking what it could be apart from the carb

have you set the valve clearances correctly they are normally a different setting to the standard due to overlap

Hi Rosey1
i live 4 miles north east of scunthorpe, i could call and see you if you like and see what i can do. Although my work is mainly developing and modifying cylinder heads i have used several of these engines myself in the past several years. At the moment i am not at home, but will be back in scunthorpe area next week.

Hi your carb is a 32/36 dgv ? dose it have a manual choke ?
If so can you drive the car and pull the choke to see if it revs / pulls better if so the jets must be to small
what do other people think to this
