gear ratio

I found a supplier of Audi 6-speed gearboxes.
The same company who also delivers to Spyker cars. He can build me one with the ratio I want.
When I want a top speed of 300 km/h with 17" wheels the revs at the wheels is 2500 -min
max revs of the engine is 6000 rpm so the ratio is 6000 - 2500 = 2.4
This is an odd number or not???

It will depend on the RR of the 17in wheel.... a zonda will have a larger Diameter than a 215/40/17 wheel.

However if I assume you get a 26in Diameter (zonda size) then 50kph per 1000rpm is still quite a high gear..... 40kph is a more normal top gear.

Saying that I had a 50kph per 1000rpm top gear in my Ultima so its do-able in some boxs.
