Any pointers for a gearbox courier.
I can get hold of a pallet if needed.
I have seen prices of £130plus but on fleabay gearbox delivery is often quoted at £80 or less. Is this because they have a trade account?
Ideas welcome.
I sold one and an engine, just one of those couriers who pick up pallets. Asked me to drain the oil first and I made simple custom pallets. i tied
them down with really big plastic tie wraps and lots of cling film. Took a picture before collection and the guy just loaded them onto his van.

I haven't sent a gearbox (or engine) on a pallet before, but I've transported a few in the backs of cars.
DRAIN ALL OF THE OIL OUT
If I was shipping on a pallet (like Mr Whippy says) I'd tie it as firmly to the pallet as possible in it's upright position.
I have shipped plenty of palletised stuff with work...avoid overhangs to avoid damage.
Have you tried shiply or palletline
The reason I asked is that I have a rebuild T9 to sell, and people often want stuff posted.
Palletline, P2G all over £120+vat (for theoretical delivery to Birmingham)
I guess I can say they can organise their own courier, which may be wise anyway.
Shiply cost me buttons to receive a V8 engine, but they did deliver it flipped on its nose (damaged) as they didn't tie it down well, and it was full of oil still so they were not amused when it flooded the rear of their wagon.
