Mx5 rear diff clips arrrrrgggghhhh

I'm trying to get the backend on my build, but I'm having a nightmare getting the drive shaft into the diff.
I've tried getting new clips thinking that the old ones were done, but the new ones are the same size and shape.
Anyone got any tips on getting the shaft back into the diff?
Thanks

A sharp knock with a copper mallet on the end of the drive shaft whilst pushing it in will pop it in. Can be a right pig just make sure the splines are properly engaged first the shaft will be about 90% in the diff before the circlip engages

Tom

please forgive me Im just learning
