Fuel sender instructions

As above .
just pulled out my sender unit from the back of the cupboard and cant find the fitting instructions, does any body know , its a smiths type piveting at the top, and by the way , do plastic tanks have baffles in them, just wondering if thats why i dont get a proper reading.

proper reading ?????? please expalin.

The reading may change a little bit if you are driving fast round corners or up/down steep hills and have no baffles. If stationary, having baffles makes no difference to the reading.

Yes i can if the baffles get in the way of the sender unit's curve.

When the tank is full ,the gauge reads three quater full, when tank is empty , the gauge reads one quater full.

I have a similar problem, when it's full it reads over full and I'm not sure what it reads near empty.

has the sender arm been set to correct ajustment for depth of tank ie does not fall all way before hiting bottom of tank and vice versa
