For Sale is my Caterham 8v VX engine, fitted with twin 40 DCOEs with K&Ns, alloy bellhousing, clutch, engne mountings the lot! -

This engine is the baby one as fitted to the Caterham Academy cars.

Its a 1999 model with 50k miles - doesn't burn oil and no funny noises - apparently about 100bhp or so but I have no dyno printout for you Im afraid.

Im pulling it out to replace with a k series and so all parts (including the exhaust) are available too.

Youd need to put your own gearbox on - type 9 will match the bellhousing which I think also fits the XE engines.

Removing this weekend so first come first served!

Hi,

Really interested in your engine. Ive a Triumph Spitfire thats looking for a transplant and I think yours might work.
Could you send me a rough measurement from front of engine to gearbox mount please? (I know the type 9 gearboxes are a fairly common swap as are k-series so think I can make it work.)
