As we are just about to start stripping down our S2000 we have bought to begin out MK Indy R project. I was looking around to see what we have to do/keep from the original car to be able to transfer our donor reg to the our MK indy as its a personalised plate. (Slag at will)

So this means I cant transfer the plate to a different chassis? And therefore cant move it to the MK?

You can't ever keep the donor vehicle registration. The best you can do is an age related plate, ie the same year as the donor.

However, you might be able to put the personal plate on retention, do your business with the car to get it on an age related plate, then put the personal plate on the mk.

However, you MUST ensure you avoid a q plate, as once you have one of those you will not be able to change it.

The radically altered vehicle registration doesn't apply to kits.
You will need to transfer plate to retention certificate, car will need current MOT, and taxed or sorned In last 12 months IIRC.. Then 2 options, all new parts for kit (1 can be recon 'as new'. But as you seem to be using a donor you will just need to use 2 major components. (Engine and gearbox would be obvious ones.). Then you would get and age related plate (based on age of donor, but not the same plate, just same year.) You can then trasfer the personal plate to the kit as you would with any other car.

Just questioning the wisdom of stripping a Honda S2000 to build a kit car?....Unless of course its a total basket case.Shirley those cars are now morden classics no?
