Hello,

Because the exhaust silencer is in the boot of my car, there is no place for the fuel tank.

Where doe jou think is the te most save position of the tank?

here my ideas:

number 2 is technically better, as it has a lower centre of mass. but its a bugger of a shape to make. myself, id just do number 1 (actually, i'd move the silencer, but i guess you want it there!).

Donkervoort used to put twin tanks in front of the rear axle behind the passengers backs. similar to number 2 but in front.

I would not put it right behind the dif as it will be indriect crush zone from the rear and more liable to get cut open-
( I workin a plant that builds the ford crown victory police crusiers--and there are a few lawsuits in process from the tank in the same location as your putting it-somehow the claimant are expecting a car to withstand being rear end when sitting still by another car doing over 80mph and not have some issues)
My bet would be to put it where your muffler is and just raise your muffler up overtop of tank- being that the muffler is much lighter than the fuel.

I have information of the Dutch testing Agency (RDW). And they say its possible to move the silincer to the side of the car, such as you in the United Kingdom also do. That’s more save than it’s near the fuel tank.
