A very nice Sports Libre, GT / Special Saloon or Rally Car. It is professionally built to a good Clubmans standard with nice equipment. Would make an interesting car in a number of disciplines and could be made into a seriously quick car if converted to its 4WD option and turbo charged.Shows little sign of use and is real value for money when compared to the build cost .
Shell understood to have been professionally built by Imtec (works Ford Puma's) as a 4wd rally car but never used as a rally car. Floor pan is 4 x 4 Cosworth Sierra with Ford Ka shell over. Fitted with a 2wd Cosworth MT75 gearbox and back axle with 3.62:1 LSD.
Could be converted to 4WD relatively easily with the addition of a 4 x 4 MT75 and a front differential. The front hubs already have CV joints in place.
Engine is a 2.0L Zetec Standard running on Weber Alpha 45mm throttle bodies and Megasquirt MS2 Extra ecu built by EFI Extra (Phil Ringwood).
The front suspension is Sierra Cosworth with quick steering rack, compression struts, coil overs.
The rear suspension has a 4 link De Dion tube with panhard rod, rear coilovers grp 4 escort.
There is a rear mounted, guarded 25lt Alloy tank with sender.
Optimum Balance Products floor mounted adjustable bias pedal box, upright hydraulic handbrake.
