Mk2 Escort Quick Rack - Track / Tie Rod help

Hi All,

After some help and knowledge from your collective minds.

I was given a MK2 Escort 2.4 quick rack by a guy at work that had been modified for a VW project he was working on. The only modification was to the rods to allow him to fit a different tyoe of TRE and extension. I was hoping I would be able to swap over the rods from my standard rack but didn't realise until today that the inner rod ends are attached in a completely different manner on the quick rack. Add to that I have just found one of the rods on my standard rack to be bent and I'm left without a useable rack, at present.

Problem with the quick rack is I have no idea what rods they are, whether they were purpose made or are from a different vehicle. I am also unable to get any details of where it originally came from. So, anyone recognise this?

Also, out of interest, does the ball joint section come apart and is there any method of adjustment for the movement in the balljoint?

Thanks in advance

Rich
