Switch identification.

If I am understanding the manual correctly switches must be identified. For instance an indicator stalk must show the pictogram for indicators.
Have I understood this correctly?

correct.

plus they must be indelible and not easy to remove, i.e. a sticker is not acceptable

I'm not so sure, most identifications are optional.

Identification of certain controls, tell tales and indicators is mandatory and is covered in other relevant sections. This section only applies to optional identification where provided.

I cant see anywhere in the direction indicators section that states identification is mandatory.
