Chain Tightness
I have a track day coming up on 25th June and wanted to make sure I have the correct tension on the chain.
At present when I push the car backwards into the garage it sounds as if the chain catches on the sprocket, which suggests to me that it is to loose?
The chain and sprockets are all new and not hooked in any way, with the chain having approx 40mm of slack on the bottom side.
Any advice on correct tension?

10mm at the most on the top side

Andy, nice car!
I originally found some of your photos on another site. I think that your early MK body looks the best version and your colour scheme really suits
it.
I was considering the MK1 for myself until the body was changed and then it was sold on to spire.

You should be able to run very little slack as there is no movement in the relationship between the two sprockets, unlike a bike where the swingarm is
constantly changing the effective length.

Thanks guy's. Obviously too loose, I was basing what I had on a bike.
Nitram38, I can't take credit for the car, it was built by Paul Leggit. I believe there were issues, but I will leave others to explain if they
want to.
As for the car itself, it is a great drive and very quick (we named it FQ  ) but needs a tidy up. Perhaps in the winter if I ever finish off the
house!

What bike? I dont think the manuals for any of my bikes specify more than 3/4" (19mm) in the middle of the bottom run.
