Aluminium chequer board / barley board

Anyone know where I can buy a small quantity of 1.2mm to 2mm thick of the above. Tried loads of places (commercial repair garages etc and metal suppliers) but all only have the 3mm to 6mm thick stuff. B+Q sell small pieces but at about £43 per square metre this is a bit steep. Failing this anyone know which industries use the thinner stuff ?

thanks

Got the 2mm stuff from the place in Leicester. Really helpful and reasonably priced. End result after about 3 hours cutting and shaping attached.

thanks

Very nice- presumably effectively stops the 'pop' effect of a steel floor too. Also prevents that horizontal bar from rusting where the paint wears from people stepping on it getting in/out!

Cool!

Well the floor underneath is actually aluminum, but I know what you mean. More fitted it as a non slip material, car is having an aero screen and no weather gear so it will inevitably get caught in a shower at some point, minimal upholstery and no carperts mean the car should dry pretty fast. Also intend to bond the chequer board to the aluminium floor underneath with a generous quantity of PU adhesive so should deaden the "drumming sound" from the floor as well.
