sound is great, but in my humble opinion the camera needs to be fixed to the car,..

having it move with your head was a distraction.

I think it looks cool mounted on the helmet. Much better than the bog standard roll bar attachment.

So how did you actually manage to get the ext mic input?

bought a cheap mic with half meter of cable, cut plug off, opened gopro, cut mic out of it, soldered new mic to old wires, hey presto.
Does work much better, invalidates warranty though

Yikes I'll say it does, can't imagine doing that to mine tbh, I fixed mine to roof off my tin top, worked fine though yeah quite a bit of wind noise even with the sealed case was just going to put some tape over the mic hole though I did put it above the windscreen so is probably in the fastest airstream. Like your vid though
