Ye I was surprised when I bought my zzr1100 bike n stripped for the locost.
I put the chassis n v5 on eBay n got £250 for it lol

They are not always used for ringers. The bike in my avatar was built from a chassis I bought using parts I sourced legitimately.
I admit that I am probably in the minority though!
