Ford proof of manufacture

Do you still need a letter of proof of manufacture?

I posted off to this address but the letter was returned saying they dont exist anymore.

quote:

For SVA purposes, you will require written proof of the date of engine manufacture. To obtain this, either send a letter or a fax, including the engine type and engine number to the Ford Technical Information Centre at the following address: Technical Information Centre Ford Motor Company PO Box 300 Walsall WS5 4QH Fax: 01922 725 266

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

The Ford engine age descriptor in the Burtons catalogue has been widely accepted by IVA inspectors for years
I used it for SVA and many friends and club members have used it recently

Thanks both of you.

So as long as they can see the engine code during the test I dont need to provide any supporting document?

Or would it be safer to send off to that new address?

Get the letter from Ford regardless. I was going for a non-cat test and so the letter was vital. Depends on the age of your engine and what test category you want to fall into.

if you provide nothing potentially you will be on new car emissions test. Some stations will accept the Burton catalogue, some wont!

We have bought a 1992 RQC engine to make sure its a non cat test.

Will post off to that address, thanks.
