Brake flexi line touching wishbone bracket
jps - 27/3/19 at 09:35 PM

The small brackets used to support a bulkhead connector (to join flexi-line to hard brake line) are right underneath the front top wishbone brackets on my build. As a result the flexi-line is in contact with the bracket as it comes out of the hole in the panel.

Can I use something (rubber tube?) to protect the flexi-line, or do I need to move it to avoid any contact?

Can you not slacken the fitting at one end to turn the hose slightly thus clearing the wishbone?

Yes a larger bore rubber pipe will provide suitable wear protection being itself sacrificial. It will wrar but not at a great rate, check before MOT every year.

I'd move it until it doesn't contact anything.

Minor risk of it wearing through but why take the chance with your brakes?

"Can you not slacken the fitting at one end to turn the hose slightly thus clearing the wishbone?"

Exactly what I have done on my car, as without a slight twist the hoses would foul on the shock,

an alternative, is to cable tie the flexy to the wishbone, so they don't rub. and have suitable stress relief (ie rubber pipe) where the cable tie holds it.
