For Sale ~ MX5 complete car too good to break
ste - 3/2/14 at 08:21 PM

It is with a sad heart I have to sell my wife's MX5 due to the imminent pitter patter of tiny feet.

The car started life in 1994 in Japan and was imported here ten years ago. It has been undersealed since arriving on these shores and as such has a beautiful, rust free chassis. I bought the car last year for my wife as a cat c damaged car. It needed a bumper, wing and a small dent at the back repairing. My father in law did the repairs using salvage parts and then it was given a full respray in green.

It is a 1.6 with 120k kms (74k miles) on the clock.

It has MOT till November and tax till June

It is a special edition 'V Special' model which included air con, power steering, torsen limited slip diff and tan leather. It has the upgraded audio system with the head rest speakers and tweeters in the doors.

The roof is brand new but she has cracked the rear screen at the top. This has been covered with clear repair tape.

The wheels on it now are the ones off the gold car in the last picture (the ones in the pictures aren't included, they were fitted to paint it)

It has the Nardi wood steering wheel in perfect condition as well as the wood gear knob and handbrake lever.

This is a stunning car in the flesh and runs like a dream.

I have replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders for brand new items as these are prone to failure. also, flushed the old brake fluid and replaced with new dot 4.

Front track rod ends have been replaced and the tracking has just been done with the new wheels.

I am looking for £950 but open to sensible offers.

I will get some better pictures if you need them but weather has been crap lately

Edited to add a bit more info and correct spellings!

Sorry, but I think it's too much for a cat c, £495 maybe.

You are dreaming, £500 will buy you a rotten donor vehicle. Rust free Mk1's fetch good money as there aren't many around.

But it's still a cat c, it's still been resprayed the wrong colour for the model that it is.

No it hasn't. Before you start making wild accusations in my for sale thread get your facts right.

The paint is the same as the original colour. It was sprayed by a proffesional using a solid colour, like it came out the factory with.

I could break it and make more than I'm selling it for. I know that because I've already broken one recently.

If you can find one nearly as clean as mine, cat c or not for £500 tell me and I'll buy it to sell on for a grand

It was gold, now it's green, 2 different colours. Regardless of that though it is still a cat c. A cat c at best is only worth 50% of a non damaged repaired car.

I suggest you re-read my original post. They are two different cars. The gold one is a mk2 for a start!

The wheels on the green one when I bought it were poo so I borrowed a set off a friend (the ones in the first picture) It now has the ones off the gold mk2 fitted.

I would like you to find the edit button under all your posts above and select the 'delete post' option and kindly refrain from writing anything in my for sale thread again unless you are interested in buying it.

If this is still too difficult for you to understand I will get my 5 year old to draw you a picture
