Formula 27 2.0L Alpha Romeo
FEZ1025 - 27/6/19 at 11:51 AM

Bought this only a short time ago, but unfortunately at 6ft & 16 stone+ I don't fit comfortably, so decided to sell, although the pedals can be moved closer for the shorter driver

I'm told it was built by a professional welder but have no proof of that. Looking at the receipts it was built in 1994/5 but the V5C which shows it registered as a Formula 27 has a first registration date of 1983, so it may become Historic in 4 years. It's running an Alpha Romeo 2.0L twin cam engine on Delorroto twin carbs, mated to a Type 9 Ford 5 speed gearbox, so if you don't like the Alpha or wanted more power then it would be an east swap, although the Alpha puts our 130 so no slouch. Oil pressure is really good 5 Bar, electric fan via a switch, but also has an override. It has a solid rear axle, which I think is Escort (guess) adjustable shocks all round. Everything works as it should, I did notice at the MOT test yesterday that the reversing light isn't working so will have a look at that. It's not insured or taxed so test drives with cash in my hand & at your own risk,

It also comes with a new windscreen for the cracked one, but MOT tester was happy it wasn't in the visible area, it also comes with 14 oil filters so should last a few years of servicing.

Plugs are out as it had been stood a while so I was spinning it over to make sure oil got everywhere before starting, it will come with 4 plugs

Car is located near Worksop S81 postcode
Looking for around £3500 unless you want to pay more

looks a lovely car, seems a shame to sell it. You could fit lower floor panels and look at alternative seat options

If it doesn't go I will look into that I did consider trying to raise the steering column didn't think about lowering the floor, I'm also struggling for storage, it's living outside currently which is okay at the minute, but not for winter

Yep all 14 of them, not quite sure why there is that many but they came with the car.

Unusual to have so many, but if they came with the car then they may as well move on with the car.

ae you sure the builder was using the matching senders to the gauges....as the alfa senders would not match vdo gauges.

hence, the indicated oilpressure could be theoretically only 2 bar...

Nope not sure but I'd be very surprised, there a receipt in the folder for recalibration services of the speedo I remember seeing that, it was all done very well.

It's been sold & collected by the new owner.
