R1 5VY ECU (CDI) and loom for sale - SOLD

American R1 (5VY) ECU (2004 - 2007) and loom for sale

Hi All

I have for sale an excellent condition R1 American ECU and complete loom.

Using the American ECU and loom means you don't need to use the coded keys that the UK versions require.

Both are in excellent condition and the loom has been labelled to make life easier for you!

I'm selling them because I'm using an Emerald ECU and custom loom so don't require the Yamaha parts.

These are pretty rare and ideal if you've only bought a bare engine!

Have a look on eBay USA to see what kind of price you'd pay (then add import duties, carriage etc.)

I also have a UK loom as well which you could use to extend the US one if needed.

I'm open to sensible offers before going on eBay.

Regards

Wyn

Wyn, you have got me worried!
Coded key?
I have a 2005 R1 with loom and all electrical componants.
Are you saying I need an ignition switch and key from the original bike?
Surely Malc from yorkshire engines would have supplied me with one if I needed it to run the engine?

Cheers Martin

Hi Martin

I'm no expert on this so don't panic! I bought the engine etc. from PaulTigerB6 on here and this is roughly what he told me.

Hopefully, somebody who knows more about this will be along in a minute! Malc has seen this thread.

Regards

Wyn

Wyn, I haven't bothered for the moment. I am too busy welding my chassis up in between working nights.
Reading other threads, I haven't heard anything meantioned about this before.

You are a long way off the wiring stage but with the speed you're going you'll get there soon! The car's looking fantastic btw!

I didn't pay much attention when I bought the engine as I knew I'd be building a new loom and using the Emerald RCU.

I'll ask Paul for some more details and let you know if I find anything.

Regards

Wyn
