Dutton Pheaton S1 1300

Wife's killing me, must go - want £1500 but save time will haggle to £1400! PM for photos.

Dutton Pheaton Kit Car:

Excellent introduction to Kit Car-ing. This is in good working order and is my daily commute of 35miles per day when the sun is shinning.

In general:

Engine is X Flow 1300cc from a MkI / Mk II Cortina and is very sound. Running gear is Spitfire / Cotina / Escort and again sound. Paint work and body work in general is acceptable, depending what you want - if you just want to get in and drive, its great, if you want a project to do then there is enough for you to stamp your mark. Paint job is not the best and some stone chips show that red was previous colour.

In the past 3 months I have put on new electronic ignition, upgraded coil, new plugs and leads, new steering arm, oil change and filter, new rear wheels, new excelarator cable, it really does run nice and corners like nothing I've driven before!

It is old and is only a 1300 so dont expect 100mph+ or concourse condition - it's very sound, very cheap (£101 insurance, 35mpg), a huge amount of fun and i'll throw in the tupperware storage box for free! Loads more pics, drop me a line, or come and see it.

TECH STUFF:

DUTTON PHAETON S1 KIT CAR ... 1983 ... YELLOW PAINT WITH ALUMINIUM SIDE PANELS ... REG No. AGU 664Y ... REGISTERED CORRECTLY AS A DUTTON ON THE V5 , WHICH IS IN MY NAME ...

You see, not sure if you really have made me feel old that I couldnt upload to screen but a whipper snapper 17 year old can!
At least i get insurance - actually that's unfair, have to say its redicoulous (go and get soap box) the cost of motoring for 'old' people but for youngsters i just couldnt comprehend it..... and as for mortgages.....
Let me know if i can help in anyway - details, V5 etc....

and thanks for the pics!

I just sold a Quantum 2+2 with a tuned XR2 CVH engine in it to a 17 year old who hadn't passed his test and he was paying £450 a year....you have not looked hard enough
