BMW satnav retro...

Hallo all, looking for some advice...posted on some other forums but this place is the place with the knowledge usually...

Been trying to find some info on the sat nav system that is fitted in my BMW E38 750il.....same as the one in the link below, but mine is fully functional....

Anyone know why this was fitted? I thought that the 750's had the satnav in the dashboard display normally....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360769673696?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fdsa.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D360769673696%26_rdc%3D1 />

Don't have any pics of the one in my car to hand....it's fitted in the passenger footwell, with the swan neck flexi bit attached to the centre console side, and the remote sat on the centre console.

Cheers, Rich.
