Dell PC with Linux Mint 17 installed, plus optional 19" monitor

Do you fancy having a go at Linux?

I am selling my old Dell Precision Workstation 450 as it no longer meets my needs.

Here is the Dell 450 specification sheet.

It has the extra CPU (so it now has 4 cores).

RAM = 4GB
Hard disk = 100GB (I think - around that size anyway)
DVD R/W drive

This used to be my main desktop machine that ran Linux Mint; since setting up my new box I had planned to set this up as a Windows 8 machine for occasional use, but it won't load - because of this, I suspect that it won't work with Windows 7 either. It will certainly work with XP, as that's what was on there originally.

However, it certainly does work very well with Linux Mint, and to prove it I've just done a fresh install of the latest version of Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon (as can be seen on the screen). If you're wavering about moving over to Linux, or getting thoroughly fed up with Windows, why not buy this machine and give it a try without committing your main machine? Mint comes with a complete suite of MS Office-compatible applications (Libre Office), a high-standard graphics package (Gimp) and all sorts of other useful utilities. Many others are available free from the Linux Mint repository.

The desktop on its own: £60 (fully loaded with Linux Mint 17, unmodified and ready for a new user)
The Dell 19" LCD monitor: £25 (but not sold separately, as I may have a use for it otherwise)

If someone buys both together then I'll throw in an as-new Dell optical mouse (I don't use ordinary mice!). You'll have to provide your own keyboard though - I don't have a spare to give away - but any PS/2 or USB UK-layout keyboard will do the job.

This is a heavy lump, and obviously quite fragile, so it has to be collect only (just south of Ipswich, Suffolk). If you collect I can demonstrate it working before you take it away.
