MK Locost BEC - Time for a new owner

Well the time has come for me to say goodbye to my much loved and cared for car.

I just don't have time to spend fiddling and using it and we need to move house now too so its someone else's turn. Car has always been kept in a warm carpeted garage!

Currently SORN and needs MOT but this can be put on if we get close to the asking price, I have no doubt it will pass as it only did about fifty miles last time and its been taken out on private roads recently, car has only cover 400 miles in total since SVA and is in fantastic clean condition, it is a real head turner, sound looks and drives great, shame to sell but it needs some extra love!

Spec:
MK Chassis, wishbones and trailing arms altered to accommodate De-Dion rear end
2001 5JJ R1 Carbed engine and associated loom, carbs etc - dynojetted with Foam air filter
Paddle shift - rod linked
Stainless header tank and silicone hoses throughout.
Stainless Custom Headers with adjusted R1 Exhaust can to keep noise and emissions down
Cortina front uprights and M16 Calipers, reconditioned with new solid discs
Escort rack - with additional 2.4 quick rack included as well.
Sierra Column, again I have a spare as I was planning to fit a QR Steering wheel.
De-Dion rear end with Sierra Cosworth LSD, disc brakes rear end.
Custom made Aluminium Fuel Tank
Custom Prop shaft
Bodywork is GRP in the main except the side panels which are aluminium and flared for extra engine cooling
Painted in a very bright Audi Red with Laquered finish so very shiny and hard wearing with very few marks on, a real eye catcher.
Stainless stone guards.
Double Bubble GRP Aeroscreen with Carbon Vinyl.
5 3/4 Chrome lights with LED side and Front indicators.
Dash is covered in a dotted vinyl which looks really nice and clean, has American chrome bezelled blue dial and the Original R1 clocks, which were on zero when I bought them.
Cobra Seats and Luke Harnesses.
15" Kei racing alloys, with Toyo Proxes, but I also have a set of 13" minilite style wheels too, which may be thrown in if we are near the asking price also.
Recently had the fuel lines changed throughout for stainless braided ones and new battery fitted. starts and runs really nicely, lights up the tyres in most gears.

Down sides:
Trying to be as honest as I can here.
There is a lacquer run on one front mudguard, which I always planned to wet sand out but never got round to doing.
Some chrome peeling on front wishbones and surface rust and have all the parts to make new ones which again was always the plan, only cosmetic.
Oil pressure and oil temp gauge aren't connected up as I wasn't entirely sure how to get them going but wanted to include them from the start.
Fuel gauge works ok but would benefit from a dip tube type instead, not big drama and I've never run out.

Looking for offers around £5k and if you are after a care which is road legal and in great condition but with the added option of making it your own then this is for you, and you've got the rest of the winter to make it yours!

Drop me a message on here or an email on Chiphaz77@yahoo.com for any questions if there is something I haven't included or if there are any other pics you would like me to take or send.

Chris

This seems a real bargain for someone!
Gotta be snapped up super quick.
I hardly feel I need to say good luck with the sale but I will :-)
