LED running lights

Has anyone fitted permanently lit LEDs to a 7? I drove in convoy on a bright sunny day with lots of shady sections. My wife was in front and said my car was pretty much invisible a lot of the time and I should drive with headlights. I try to remember to put dip beams on now at all time, but I often forget. It's particularly noticeable that about half of current cars have white LEDs permanently on and they certainly stand out better than the older cars. I think running LEDs would be a good idea on the 7, but with just 7 inch headlights and integral sidelights I can't think how to do it in a tidy fashion.

I upgraded to LED headlight a couple of years ago and they have built in LED DRLs. I was never s big fan of DRLs before but noticed a significant reduction in "I didn't see you" moments. Wouldn't want to be without them now. The headlights are a big improvement as well do double win.

I recently fitted a set of 7" ones to an MK for s customer and it was an easy job.

I got mine from russbost and got great service but there's plenty of options on e-bay etc.

I have fitted a pair of those shown in the link - they are bright, but relatively small. I've wired them up to come on when I turn on the ignition, but turn off when I switch on the headlights. I mostly drive in country roads, and anything that automatically makes me more visible is very welcome.

I was thinking of fitting bigger units, but it's quite hard to find after-market DRLs that are as bright as those fitted to modern cars - I've bought a couple of pairs off ebay, but they never seem to be so good.

I take the Volvo approach and just have my normal lights on all the time. The light switch is left 'on', the lights don't actually come on until the ignition is on. My last few tintops have been the same.

I have fitted 4 of those shown earlier in the thread - they are really bright and show up very well indeed even in bright sunlight. I haven't wired them properly as they come on with the ignition so will have to sort it out properly when it comes to an mot but that isn't until Oct 2019 so will wait until then

Last night I noticed our new local buses have round flush fit combined DLRs and indicators, about 3 inches in diameter. Now where can I get some of those?

Does the DRL go off when you switch the indicator on?
