Very small chip on windscreen. Diy or professional?

Had a stone come up from a truck today that has put a "tiny" crack in the centre of the screen, about 5mm across. There is no glass missing just a crack. Is it worth a repair kit, if so which one, or should I go to a professional repair company?
Regards, Jon

I'd go professional and you might find that it'll only cost you a tenner as the insurance companies are keen to repair a screen before it becomes a replacement

I've done DIY before. It stopped it getting worse but still looked the same.
Go professional.

Depends on who's paying... if it's you I'd repair it yourself as it's easy and the kits can be bought at Halfords. I have one in the glovebox as their handy to have and you get best results fixing it as soon as it happens. Also good for fixing scratches too.

I'd say a crack like you describe is more likely to spread than a chip so it's definitely worth getting it done professionally to hopefully avoid the need for a full screen replacement or inconvenient MOT failure if/when it spreads.

Unless of course your existing screen looks like the surface of the moon already and you're planning to keep the car for long enough to get the benefit of a new screen.

glass repair

Just booked Autoglass repair through my insurance company (LV) £20 so probably the best option. Thanks for all replies
