for mountney classic or m series wheels ?

I might have one for an m series wheel available soon if the snap off wheel upgrade works OK.

All the ones I tried were really poor quality, so bad that the steering lock wouldn't work.

I made my own by stripping the ford one out of the sierra wheel, and making a colapsable mount to match the wheel. It passed the SVA and even looks half decent

Mine works perfect... I'll have a look where i got it from. No problem with the steering lock

Got a momo one from Rally Design. The Mountney one we had prior to this we had to return as the casting was so bad. It wouldn't even go on the spline to get to the steering lock.

IIRC not dissimilar pricing either - but we had to wait for the MOMO to be imported (he said anyway)

It's a classic case of cheap production - the QA is so bad that some parts will be good, and some will be useless. Hence some will think they're great, and others think they're poo.

The one I had wouldn't lock, 'cos the notch in the ali casting didn't line up with the notch in the steel surround. Obvious fault if someone had taken the trouble to pick it up and look at it.

mark, have you got any photos showing how you dismantled the sierra wheel and then made the new boss ? I assumed that the boss was a solid part of the wheel and therefore not removable.

thanks

Thats a bllody good idea Mark. id guess the siarra wheel is just a basic casting that has been overmoulded. Stripping off the overmoulding should reveal the 'Skeleton'. Mod that to suit new wheel etc.

I got one off ebay. It was listed as a Cavalier boss but the picture was a Sierra one. I asked if it was the one in the picture and it was. I got it for £5 including postage and it works fine.

Well,

i had one but as everybody says...it was of sow bad quality that it splitted up the backpart (where the hex splin is...)

i tried then something with liquid metal..
but it didn't work.

i would like still to buy one or make it from my sierra wheel..

are there yet pics/ instructuins found?

How does the collapsable system work on the sierra wheel??

Tks
