Temp Insurance for Canadian Rellie

O knowledgable collective!

We have Canadian rellies coming over for a couple of weeks and want to ensure them on an old Focus we have in the family.

Can anyone suggest a temp cover company? AA won't touch non EU.

Insure Daily would do it but only on a car valued over £1500 and the book value of the focus is sub grand.

Any ideas?

Get the rellies to arrange cover from Canada using their own insurance company?

Direct line did my sister a few weeks ago when she came over from Oz to stay for 3 weeks. They insure my polo (worth £500 tops) and were happy to add her for peanuts.

If they are CAA members they can get insurance through them and international drivers licence also through CAA (recommended) before leaving Canada.

They may be happier with Aussie drivers than with Canadian ones - Aussies drive on the left. I hire cars in Sydney, and the hire charges are a fair bit less if the driver is from the UK or NZ.

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. We have a couple of short period schemes where we can refer non UK residents. If you wanted yo PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.
